Ok, I consider myself a relatively new SS501 fan since I just discovered them in Jan. of '09, but I am curious? Why did SS501 leave DSP? I have heard people say that DSP promoted them badly and their albums were always delayed (which is true), but it seems that in late '08, SS501 blew up and their fanbase really increased, especially internationally, their Asia Tour was an awesome success, so I know SS501 was pouring money into DSP. Before the contract was up, the members were saying they wanted to be together and would resign with DSP? So I just want to know what did DSP do to my Double S to make them leave? Since Jungmin and Baby had personal ties to the agency, I was really surprised that they didn't resign with DSP, so DSP had to have done something unreasonable and bad to the members. Did the guys want more freedom? Was DSP taking too much of the money the guys earned? Did DSP really not want to resign Kyu? I'm totally pissed off at DSP because I know it was their fault, but I'm just curious to know what happened. But I have been seeing the same managers and coordis around the guys even now, so it seems they are still a little involved with DSP. My loyalty is with SS501, not DSP, but I'm just curious (and nosy), so does anyone know? I would even enjoy any reasonable theories. Help me out here, guys!

I'm a new fan this year too! I would hazard a guess that it has to do with some of the controversies we've read about and also a desire for more freedom to pursue additional career opportunities outside of the group. I think DSP pushed them too hard... and quite possibly didn't offer very impressive terms in negotiation of a new deal, so naturally members looked at other options and chose to sign with those that gave them what they wanted.
I'd be interested to know if anyone has a firm idea as to the specifics of what happened.
